Chechen republic in Southern Russia has created what it is called as VayTube (similar to) YouTube. This website contains a vast collection of video clips related to their republic's life and culture. VayTube is specially created for Chechen Republic folks to have their own voice and unite others and those living abroad. This is a website packed with thousands of video clips showing the republic’s culture and traditions, sports, music and film. Currently, VayTube is only in Russian, but the creators are working on translations into Chechen, English and Arabic and many more . And Sooner they will rebuild it, keeping global internet users in mind.
If this is the case then people from other countries will start to build their own YouTube kind of website for showcasing their culture, religion, and their countries life. Who knows one day it will become a threat to YouTube. |
